Roulette systems – not foolproof but still a lot of fun

When playing online roulette or socialising in the online roulette community, you may have heard of people using roulette systems. However, it can be unclear what systems actually are and how they are used. This article aims to clear up that confusion by explaining what a roulette system is and introducing you to some of the most popular systems.

What is a roulette betting system?

Put simply, a system is simply a roulette strategy: generally, one that is based on some kind of mathematical foundation in order to ensure that it works. A system has two components. It helps you decide not only how you choose and place your bets, but also how much money you should bet at different stages in the game. There are lots of different systems, including new and innovative ones and old tried-and-tested ones.

Can I lose while using a roulette strategy?

Yes, you can lose your online casino roulette game even if you are using a strategy exactly as it is meant to be used – they are not foolproof. There are a couple of reasons for this. Firstly, there are a lot of strategies online that do not have the proper mathematical background and therefore don’t really work that well. When you choose a strategy, spend some time trying to figure out how it works rather than just accepting that it does. The other problem is that casinos are aware of these strategies and work to make sure they are not foolproof by imposing limits on how much you can bet.

However, it is also likely that you’ll have a lot of fun using roulette systems if you don’t take them too seriously and just use them as a model for how the game should be played. Next, we’ll look at three of the most popular strategies that have been developed for roulette – beginning with one of the most famous, the Martingale strategy. These three strategies are all quite different and so will give a good overview of how roulette systems work.

Martingale Roulette System

The Martingale is the most famous roulette system ever created. It is very simple to put into practice: you simply double your lost bet, meaning that when you eventually win you are guaranteed to get all your money (and more) back. This is true and works really well if you hit a win quite quickly, but of course, you run the risk of running out of money or hitting the casino’s limits first. This is related to the Reverse Martingale, a system in which you double your bet after a win, but walk away following a loss. This can also work well, as long as you have the self-control to walk away when you need to.

D’Alembert Roulette System

This is a linear betting system that is based on the ideas of the mathematician Jean-Baptiste le Rond d’Alembert. To use this system, when you lose you increase your stake, and when you win you decrease it. The theory behind this is to make sure that you win as much as you lose, making you an overall winner in the game. There is a reverse version of this system which can be a lot of fun, in which you decrease your stake when you lose and increase it when you win. This is meant to take advantage of winning streaks as well as somewhat limiting the amount that you can lose.

Oscar’s Grind Roulette System

The final system discussed here is based on the idea of never making huge bets – very different from the previous systems where the bets can end up huge! You start betting with £1 and do not increase your stake until you lose, at which point you increase to £2. When you are in profit, go back to £2 unless you lose at which point you go up to £3. Many roulette players feel that this is a solid and reliable method of making a little money each day, though there are no big wins in this strategy. Try this one if you want to see if grinding for a small profit is for you.

So, roulette betting systems can be very comprehensive and can also add an extra layer of fun and challenge to your online roulette game. There are many excellent strategies that have had great results for many roulette players, but the most important thing to remember when choosing a roulette strategy is that it is not foolproof and you can still lose while playing it.
